Do You Ask Yourself “Why Do I Crave Sugar?”

One need only look, smell, or taste sugar to understand why they desire it all the time.

A large quantity of sugary treats are appealing to both sight, and taste.

Almost everybody knows what their most favorite colors, textures, flavors and temperatures are in sugary confections. Did you know that consuming sugar can make you feel better? Yes! Did you also know that sugar tastes great? Thought you did! Feeling happy while eating sugar that has a pleasing taste just adds to the satisfaction! Your brain finds sugar useful so it makes eating sugar pleasurable. The brain finds sugar to be useful as a quick energy boost so it gives us all these signals of pleasure in exchange for providing sugar to the body. It’s no wonder that sugar is one of the top foods people crave.  You may be getting mixed signals from your brain. You may be asking yourself “why do I crave sugar” and your brain that needs sugar to get a quick energy boost is asking “why not” ?

There are very few people who do not like sugars.

There are many celebration during that part of the year, and each one has its own sweets associated with it. We are constantly confronted with words and pictures that involve foods loaded with sugar. You see internet ads, commercials and signs every day advertising sweet foods. It’s not just your local convenience store that has sweet foods; you can be assaulted by them in the grocery store line, the pet store, the mall and everywhere else.

You might drink a sugary soda or eat a piece of cake for no reason other than that they’re there and tasty. When you find yourself having a craving for a sweet treat, ask yourself exactly why you are attracted to sugar in the first place.

Once you know why you crave sugar you can start dealing with those cravings reasonably.
