Supplements: Which Ones Are Worth The Money?
It’s fairly common knowledge that the supplement industry is packed with products that don’t work as advertised.
They offer us an endless supply of capsules and powders, which will supposedly give us the physique that we want so badly. …
..So underneath the snappy marketing and packing, do these things work as they say?
A large proportion of supplements on the market don’t actually contain any ingredients that have been proven to work, and some of the ones that do can also bring about side effects in some people!
People desperate to gain muscle or lose fat spend their money on pointless supplements all the time. You’ll do whatever it takes to reach your goals if it means a few pounds of muscle gain or fat loss, so you’re an easy target and likely to shell out on a product to see if it helps. Fast foward a few weeks: The product has gone, and you look exactly the same as you did before you took the stuff.
I’ve fallen for clever ad campaigns for products that didn’t work myself, it’s very easy to start believing what the ads tell you when you WANT to believe it.
They make huge profits because they know how to cleverly take advantage of two things: Peoples yearning for a better body and their total lack of education with regards how to get one.
But are there any supplements available that do as they promise? We’re going to cast an eye over some now, but first I thought I’d tell you about a quality muscle building guide that I reviewed recently, which actually discusses supplementation. You can view it here.
Whey Protein Powder
The most popular supplement for muscle gaining is actually the most effective. Why? Well, its an actual foodstuff, and diet and the food that you consume has the biggest effect on your physique, more so than any ‘magic pill’ or ‘chemical’. Protein is crucial for muscle preservation and growth, and whey powder is practically all protein and virtually nothing else. It’s highly useful first thing in the morning to quickly get protein to your starving muscles (you won’t have eaten for maybe 8 hours remember), the same applies to post-workout.
Take a look at this link for a look at how Whey Powder can be used in a diet.
Multi-Vitamin
We get them from our food sources and life is impossible without them, they’re also available in a concentrated form as a supplement. Whilst a vitamin difficiency can cause ill health, if you’re eating the right foods it shouldn’t create a need for you to use a Multi-Vitamin. However, someone who is training for muscle with strenous exercise requires an abundance of vitamins to help ensure that their body recovers and grows. You’ll find that many athletes will take their daily Multi-Vitamin dose to ensure that their bodies are fully topped up.
