How can you lose those “love handles” without losing too much weight?

I’m 16 years old, around 5’11″, and I weigh about 158 lbs. I’m no where near fat or overweight, but I have this annoying packet of fat around my waist and stomach. I’m active in sports, and I exercise a lot, including ab workouts. No matter what, I can’t get abs because I have fat that covers it. Not to mention I have love handles that won’t go away.
Is there a way to just lose that fat without going on a diet? I think it would be unhealthy to lose too much weight, since I am at a healthy weight now. But my love handles are driving me crazy! Thanks.
Well, like I said, I’m active in sports. I run very often, so you’d think this wouldn’t be a problem.
Actually, I used to be pretty chubby as a kid, but I grew taller and thinned out. So I’m no longer overweight, but yeah, those love handles won’t go away. Theyr’e definitely very noticable too, and they drive me crazy.

Five Habits That Can Contribute To Being Overweight
Is your lifestyle contributing to your weight gain? For healthy people – weight gain is caused by simply consuming more calories than you burn.
