low carb diets
ClumsyClumsy:] asked:

i’m not a fan about low carb dieting.i know the dangers. however, i do want to reduce some of my carb intake. i still eat bread and other grains, but i try to avoid it later in the day. is this okay?

also why is that people avoid eating grains on low carb diets but still eat fruits and vegetables when they have about just as much carbohydrates?

what are your opinions about low carb dieting? and how many servings of grains should a 5 feet 110 pounds 15 year old girl should eat daily? thanks sooooooooooooooooooo much!!!

Because the carbs in bread are sugar carbs . The carbs in vegatable and fruits are complex carbs or starch cabrs which are healthy and help you loose weight.

Do u feel sort of like weak or tired?
We need around 6-7 servings of carbohydrates to make us feel alert. Carbohydrates are main sources of energy. If you want to avoid excessive consumption of carbohydrates, you can choose to eat wholemeal bread and have unpolished rice. The bran and germ is intact in unpolished rice. You can also choose to have rice and alternatives which contains complex carbohydrates, which actually make you feel satisfied over a longer time.
Vegetables and fruits are in the 2nd group of the Healthy Diet Pyramid, which actually contains lesser carbohydrates, but dietary fibre, minerals and vitamins. People believe that veggies and fruits are good because of common sayings that they contain a lot of nutrients. Rice and alternatives do contain a lot of nutrients too. It depends how you eat it. We have a lot of alternatives to choose from. We cannot concentrate too much on one thing and neglect the other. We have to eat food both from rice and alternatives and fruits and veggies. They all contain nutrients that are essential to us. Lack of a substance in our body may just easily lead to a disease. We should balance our meals.

I never bought into the Atkins diet – eating high fat high protein diet. He had a heart attack and died.

Fruits and veggies never killed anyone. You can have all you want and not get fat. It is a misnomer to compare natural fruit sugar with cane sugar.

As for how much to eat. Eat as you are hungry. Most people eat more than they need. If you are active you body will tell you its hungry.

I would not worry how many servings of food you need to eat. The gov pyramid does not consider physical activity.

If you are sitting around watching TV, your body will not be hungry.

If you’re serious about losing weight you MUST try Acai Berry! I first heard about on Oprah, and I ordered a 14-day FREE trial from this site. I’ve already lost some weight and I’ve got tons more energy.
